Report of the Property Committee

The major project for our church family was the renewal of the church steeple, details of which are included in the Trustees' report. This task included the refurbishment of the sanctuary ceiling, especially around the left rear light fixture, and the painting, with replacement of some of the ceiling tiles of the narthex. Hopefully, our problems with water leaks are behind us.

Many thanks are extended to the small number of willing volunteers who participated in the spring cleanup; particular emphasis was placed on reorganizing the garage-shed.

During the late summer and fall, a number of chores were attended to, including replacement of all light bulbs in the sanctuary, hanging fixtures, work on the sump pump to free up the float which activates the pump, replacement of aged fire extinguishers with larger units in the parish house kitchen and by the church furnace room door, repair of the vestry bathroom (next to the kitchen) sink stopper and service overhaul of the snowblower.

The church family is indebted to Grover Maclaughlin for his watchfull eye and attention to the many, many day to day matters that have arisen over the past years. A vote of thanks is also extended to Jim Leiby for keeping the steeple clock running; Jim is interested in finding a replacement clock keeper as he finds the timing increasingly difficult now that he and Sandra live in Winterport.

REcognition is also in order to Ruth Reed, who heads the Landscaping Subcommittee for maintaining the shrubs and flowers which includes the planters by the front doors. Ruth reports that Woody Carville has willingly assisted her and Kendra (Warner) (Raymond) remain available for landscaping advice.
