Picture of the Week

Have you ever wondered about this monument at the corner of Hammond Street and High Street in Bangor?  Traffic zips through this busy intersection so fast that it's impossible to tell what the monument is for.  Actually, it's quite a story.  The monument faces the former home of Peter Edes, the first printer and newspaper publisher in Bangor, and a patriot in the American Revolution.  He was there at the beginning... In fact, the Boston Tea Party was planned in his family home.
