Purpose of the Peace and Justice Center

We Support:

Allocating resources toward life-enhancing programsand away from profit-maximization and military investment
Developing non-violent approaches to conflict - personally,locally, regionally, and globally
Creating human relations not based on structures ofoppression (racism, sexism, heterosexism, classism, ageism, able-bodyism,etc.)
Working for the self-determination of peoples, andequitable relations between societies
Building political and economic democracy, includingthe right to meaningful, non-exploitative work
Promoting sustainable energy sources, environmentallysound technologies, and life-styles which respect the needs of all life.

Membership in the Peace and Justice Center of EasternMaine is open to any person or group, especially those in Penobscot, Waldo,Hancock, Washington and Piscataquis Counties, who shares our concern forand interest in the work of creating peace, social justice and a sustainableenvironment.
